What the investigation does

The essay compares programme design, community support, socioeconomic context and funding in Indigenous Australian and international education settings.

What the examiner response highlights

01

A broad applied issue is separated into a small set of analyzable psychological and contextual factors.

02

International examples compare mechanisms and conditions instead of becoming a catalogue of programmes.

03

Personal experience motivates the inquiry while published research carries the argument.

What to examine critically

Psychology EEs must be based on published secondary evidence; personal experience cannot become evidence and student-run studies are unsuitable.

A current version should use recent peer-reviewed research and remain anchored in psychology rather than drifting into education policy.

How to use this example

Study the decisions behind the work: how the question is narrowed, what counts as evidence in this subject, how the line of argument develops, and where the evaluation becomes specific. Do not copy its wording, structure or method as a template.

Assessment changes for first examination in May 2027 redesign the criteria around the essay framework, knowledge and understanding, analysis and argument, discussion and evaluation, and reflection. Always check the requirements for your own session.
