Wal-Mart Después de registrar pérdidas durante ocho años, período en el que intentó penetrar en un mercado dominado por las tiendas de descuento, Wal-Mart, una cadena minorista global de gran evergadura, ha decidido vender sus 85 tiendas en Alemania a Metro. Michael Duke, vicepresidente de Wal-Mart, afirmó que el entorno de negocios de Alemania les había “hecho difícil obtener la escala que deseábamos”. La venta de estas tiendas a Metro, el mayor minorista de Alemania, constituye el retiro más significativo de Wal-Mart en el plano internacional. Wal-Mart continúa expandiéndose rentablemente en América Latina y China, donde el entorno externo es mucho más favorable.
