Resource overview

This subject report is listed under Human Rights in the 2009 examination archive. The catalogue session is May 2009. The information below helps you identify the document before opening the complete PDF. Subject, year and session labels come from the archive catalogue; the original cover remains the reference if a label differs. A file is not automatically suitable for your current syllabus simply because its subject name matches.

For coursework research, read this document as a reference rather than a template to submit. Notice how the question, evidence and explanation connect. If a paired commentary or subject report is available, compare it with the original work instead of assuming a polished essay received a particular mark. Historical examples may belong to an earlier assessment framework.

The public preview contains file information and, where reliable text extraction is available, a limited opening excerpt. It is not a summary of unseen questions or a replacement for the original document. Create a free email account to read or download the complete file. No payment is required to unlock this archive resource.

This original usage overview is based on the archive metadata. It does not claim to summarise the complete file.

We do not know the cause, but it is clear that this group of students have ignored the standards in the guide . It is difficult to find a good theoretical approach even in those works that perta in to the topic. Many believe that writing an extended essay about human rights simply consists of describing a violation of human rights, or an unfair or arbitrary situation, which is a big mistake. Candidate performance against each criterion A: research question Too many students have failed because they chose a topic not related to human rights. Even though human rights matters are many and varied, a full understanding of the topic is required to formulate a ny research question. International r elations, animal r ights, humanitarian international l aw, ethics, philosophy, constitutional l aw, bioethics: none of these is an appropriate topic for an extended essay about human rights. B: introduction Some students got the introduction mixed up with the abstract, and few gave it a title . In general, they did not comply with the requirements of an extended essay. C: investigation It
